When I run ASI FrontDesk Configuration,
the system does not ask for authorization, but it does if I run ASI FrontDesk,
why is that?

When I run ASI FrontDesk Configuration,
the system does not ask for authorization, but it does if I run ASI FrontDesk,
why is that?
The system is copy protected on ASI FrontDesk portion only. ASI FrontDesk can be
used for free for 45 days from the install date. You can obtain the
authorization for the software any time during these 45 days. Please call ASI at
1.800.431.4786 for purchasing and authorization needs.

During adding of rooms, I see options for
Week Day and Weekend Day, what is this?
For each room, you will need to
specify rates for each rate type you have defined. You can specify which rate
should be shown as default for week days and which rate should be shown default
for weekend day. If you do not differentiate the rates this way, you can always
specify one specific rate to be default for both.

After configuring the rooms in ASI
FrontDesk Configuration, the rooms are displayed in what appears to be in random
order on the screen. How can I arrange them in rows and columns?
Select Arrange Rooms menu option from the Rooms menu item. Rooms will be auto
arranged in rows and columns. Optionally you can also arrange rooms a specific
layout on screen. We recommend you arrange the rooms as they are in physical
layout of your hotel. You can click on a room, hold down the mouse button and
drag the room to desired location on screen, and release the mouse button. Make
sure to click on Save Position toolbar button when you have completed arranging
all rooms.

What is the Password of Admin, when the
software is run for the first time?
By default no password is assigned to the Admin user. So for the first times
don’t enter any passwords just click "Sign In". You can change the password for
Admin whenever required.

I am getting message "Please specify date
less than today"
The system date in your computer must be greater than the maximum date in the
ASIFD software date tree. Please Change the date appropriately and try to create
the new day.

I am getting message "No printer
Installed. Please contact system administrator" when I try to see reports.
Most likely there are no printers installed on your computer. Please install at
least one printer, even if you do not have printer attached physically to your
computer. Printers can be added through Printers and Faxes option of Windows
Start menu, refer to Microsoft help on how to add a printer. ASIFD needs one
printer installed in your computer to display report.

When I try to see the transactions of a
certain date, it says "Reports Locked" and that day transactions are not shown
to me.
Someone has locked the day, to unlock it, right click that day’s node in the
date tree and select unlock. By locking the day, you can prevent the inadvertent
changes in data.

My system has correct date and everything
is right, but I am not able to open new day, it gives message "Sorry you cannot
open a day"
Please check your system time, we have a settings in configuration part, Click
Miscellaneous, select Report option, check Open New day After field. You cannot
create day before that time.

During adding rooms, I see Add Room from date,
what is this?
When you add a room, it becomes active on and after the date you specify here.
Say you install the software on Feb 16th. If you wish to start entering data
from February 1st, you would specify February 1st as your Add From date.

I have been playing around the software for
some time now. I want to delete my practice data and start over with real data.
How can I can I delete practice data?
Login as admin user. Only privileged users can perform these tasks. Click on
last date in date tree view in the left hand side of screen. Then right mouse
click on it. Select “Delete Date” popup menu item. You will delete the whole day
this way. Delete all days you wish to delete. When you are left with just one
day in the tree view, right mouse click on it and select “Delete Transactions”.

When I try to uninstall your software, the
setup program asks for admin password. I have never specified any password, what
do I do now?
The uninstall procedure of the setup program also removes your database. So we
have added password check for uninstall. If you have admin password, then enter
it and click on OK. If you have not never entered any password for admin user,
then just click on OK to remove the software.

Why is date so important to your program?
All calculations and rental management is very much tied to dates and time. We
recommend you set correct date and time at any given moment to assure data
accuracy. You should check if date is correct when you install the software and
then assure that changes do not occur except for minor time adjustments if you
system clock does not keep up.

What
is the video feature in your program?
ASI FrontDesk offers a unique video feature. You can equip your computer with a
simple low cost USB Webcam. You can set a setting in the configuration program
to take a picture of the lobby at various rental activities (check-in,
check-out, payment, etc). When such activities take place the software will take
a picture of whatever your Webcam is pointed at that moment.

What is the swipe card feature?
With the swipe card reader is a device with which ASI FrontDesk can read
information in the magnetic strip behind the driver license (most states) and
credit cards. The driving license magnetic strip has information about name and
address of the driving license card holder. The system will fill in this
information making your check-in and payment processes faster as you are not
required to type the information manually.
